From age 5 or after the Garolou

Ourson lessons

From age 5 or after completing Garolou, children head out onto their first slopes in complete safety, guided by our instructors and at their own pace!

From Age 3-4 years - Ourson level

Is your child aged 3 or 4 and already has at least their Ourson badge? They can continue learning to ski on the slopes with our Flocon et + lessons, supervised by our friendly instructors!

After earning the Ourson badge, it’s time to aim for the stars! Your child aged 5 and up continues to progress on the slopes, guided by an instructor, and enjoys wonderful moments with their friends.

Kindergarten and Club Piou Piou: first ski lesson at the esf La Plagne Centre

The Club Piou Piou at the esf La Plagne welcomes children aged 3–4 for games and an introduction to winter sports, in a safe environment away from the slopes. Supervised by multilingual instructors specialising in early childhood, the little ones can discover skiing and the mountain environment at their own pace.

Learning takes place through play in the ‘kindergarten’ area, and each child is presented with a lovely medal at the end of the week! Meanwhile, 5–6-year-olds have their own lessons on the slopes.

What is the Club Piou Piou at the esf La Plagne Centre?

At the esf La Plagne Centre, there are several packages available for children aged 3 to 6, from 197 euros for 5 or 6 afternoons:

Piou Piou lessons (3–4 years): fun activities at the kindergarten, first steps on skis, and the Piou Piou, Blanchot, Sifflote or Garolou badge.
Flocon level ski lessons and above (3–4 years): following on from the Ourson level, on the slopes.
Ourson lessons (from 5 years old or Garolou level): more accessible children’s ski lessons.
Flocon level ski lessons and above (aged 5): for gradual progress on the slopes.

With our qualified instructors, children discover skiing in a safe environment through group lessons designed especially for them. A fun approach, an introduction to sport, dedicated ski courses… This makes individual progress possible!

What happens during the first ski lesson at Club Piou Piou?

A 3- or 4-year-old’s first ski lesson always takes place at the Club Piou Piou run by the esf La Plagne Centre, specifically in the ‘snow garden’ area.

To begin with, each pupil discovers and gets to know their ski equipment through fun games (jumping in the snow, etc.). The 3–4-year-olds also get to know the Snow Garden mascots: Piou Piou, Blanchot and the others.

The first lessons are designed to reassure the child and help them build confidence on the snow, before moving on to more advanced skills. Over five days of lessons (weekly booking), children can learn some of the following basics:

Recognising their equipment,
Moving around whilst wearing skis,
Gliding facing the slope,
Getting back up using the magic carpet,
etc.
